Tillie Walden: Queer Comics Workshop

  • Henry Sheldon Museum 1 Park St Middlebury, VT, 05753 United States (map)

Celebrate Midd Pride at the Sheldon Museum with award-winning cartoonist Tillie Walden.

Tillie’s forthcoming graphic novel Charity & Sylvia (2026) tells the story of Charity Bryant and Sylvia Drake—residents of nearby Weybridge, VT, and one of the nation’s earliest documented same-sex couples.

In this workshop, Tillie will guide participants through hands-on cartooning exercises that explore how to tell your own story through comics. This workshop is best suited for middle and high school students. No prior drawing experience needed—just bring your curiosity and creativity! All supplies provided.

Registration required. Spaces is limited.

This workshop is generously sponsored by the William F. Brooks Endowed Fund for History & Art Education in collaboration with the Middlebury Teen Center.
