Addison County Road Trip Scavenger Hunt

Family Road Trip, 1938. Collection of Henry Sheldon Museum

Family Road Trip, 1938. Collection of Henry Sheldon Museum

The Sheldon Museum invites you and your family to participate in a Road Trip Scavenger Hunt! Drive through different parts of Addison County while you follow clues to locate approximately 10 landmarks along the route. A car scavenger hunt is a great way to have some fun with your family while still being safe and following COVID-19 guidelines. The hunt is appropriate for all ages, young and young at heart.

You can choose from two routes. The $10 fee includes both routes.

ROUTE #1: East Middlebury to Vergennes

ROUTE #2: Orwell to Middlebury

Click here to sign up and purchase the routes.

Each route will take approximately 2 hours and cover 25 miles. Picnic areas are suggested, so bring your lunch or snacks.  All the stops have easy access with places to park off the road. When you stop at each site, use your phone to take your picture with the landmark. Then tag the Sheldon on Facebook @henrysheldonmuseum or email your photos to henrysheldonmuseum@gmail.com.

While supplies last, the Sheldon will present an Addison County poster from the Museum Store to participants who post their photos.

We encourage everyone to go on the Scavenger Hunt on the same day, Sunday, October 18. A few days prior to that date, you will receive an email with your route and clues for finding the landmarks. Don’t peek at the directions before October 18 -- the fun is solving the clues while on the ride!

Please follow all road laws and play safe during the Scavenger Hunt. No speeding or distracted drivers.
