Make A Bug!: A Found-Object Workshop Hosted by Artist Gene Childers

  • Ilsley Library 75 Main Street Middlebury, VT, 05753 United States (map)

A workshop for participants of all ages! Join folk artist Gene Childers for a fun opportunity to make a bug out of found objects decorated with acrylic paint. This workshop will take place at the Ilsley Library, 75 Main Street, Middlebury and is free of charge.

In this engaging workshop, all participants will make their own bugs (pictured above) and give them creative names. Participants will be encouraged to draw, to write about their bugs, and to make up stories about them. Gene Childers will provide an engaging “show and tell” featuring his bugs made from found objects. Where does your bug live? What does it eat? What sounds does it make? You decide at this fun, interactive event designed to ignite inspiration and encourage creativity for all who participate.

SPACE IS LIMITED, and participants must sign up by Friday, October 14. All children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the duration of the workshop (adults are encouraged to join the fun and make their own bugs!).

This event is hosted by the Henry Sheldon Museum of Vermont History and the Ilsley Library. It is sponsored by Table 21.
